Short Answer - No
Both Symbicort and Advair are inhaled corticosteroids combined with a long acting medication to help keep the airways open. They both treat asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Symbicort contains a combination of budesonide and formoterol, while Advair contains fluticasone and salmeterol. Budesonide and fluticasone are both corticosteroids that reduce inflammation in the airways, making it easier to breathe. Formoterol and salmeterol are long acting beta-agonists that help relax the muscles in the airways, allowing for better airflow.
It is not recommended that you use both these products at the same time. However one may work better in an individual than the other and may have slightly different side effects. So if one is not working it may be worth trying the other to see if you get better results.
It is important to discuss with your doctor which medication would be most suitable for you based on your individual condition and medical history.
